Jung Chae-yeon to Make Special Appearance in 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store'

Singer and actress Jung Chae-yeon is set to make a special appearance in 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store'.

According to TenAsia's report on the 26th, Jung Chae-yeon is actively pursuing both her singing and acting careers this year. As part of her endeavors, she will be making a special appearance in 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store'. A broadcasting official told TenAsia, "Since 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store' is structured in an omnibus format, please look forward to the official content releases to find out which series and actors Jung Chae-yeon will be working with."

'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store' is based on the renowned work by Japanese author Keigo Higashino. The story revolves around three thieves who hide in a general store that connects the past and present. They respond to letters seeking advice and uncover the miraculous secrets intertwined with their lives. The original novel, sharing the same name, was the best-selling Japanese novel in Korea for a decade from 2007 to 2016. The Korean drama adaptation has already generated excitement with the announced cast, including Lee Chae-min, Moon Sang-min, Kim Hye-yoon, Yum Jung-ah, Ryu Seung-ryong, Kang Yoo-seok, and Go Ah-sung.

Meanwhile, Jung Chae-yeon debuted in 2015 with the group DIA and gained immense popularity after re-debuting as a member of I.O.I through Mnet's 'Produce 101' in 2016. She later signed an exclusive contract with BH Entertainment, focusing on her acting career.

She has expanded her filmography with roles in various projects such as 'Golden Spoon', 'Assembled Family', and 'Esquire: Lawyers Dreaming of Lawyers'. This year, she is balancing her acting career with a return to idol activities, as I.O.I is set to reunite for their 10th anniversary. The group is preparing for a comeback on the 19th of next month, with related content being released sequentially.
