Korean Actress Son Tae-young Shares a Day of Shopping in NYC with Her Daughter

Korean actress Son Tae-young recently shared a glimpse into her life as a mom in New York City, spending a day shopping with her daughter.

On the 25th, the YouTube channel 'Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young' released a video titled 'Why Gen Z in America Are Crazy About Street Shopping in NYC, Explained by Son Tae-young's Daughter Riho.'

In the video, Son Tae-young, her daughter Riho, and family friends embarked on a shopping spree in the SoHo area of New York. From the start, Riho and her friends were visibly excited, energetically moving from store to store. In contrast, Son Tae-young admitted, "The traffic today was exhausting," showing signs of fatigue early on.

Their first stop was the large American retail store, Target. Riho was immediately drawn to various trinkets and toys, clutching a Lego bouquet as she enjoyed her shopping. Her and her friend's back-and-forth of "Should we buy this? How about that?" epitomized the typical 'Gen Z shopping' style.

Son Tae-young offered practical advice, "If you buy this, you'll have to carry it," but it was not enough to curb the children's enthusiasm. She added a motherly reminder, "Don't buy unnecessary things. Save your allowance," which brought a smile.

The group then moved on to a cosmetics store and fashion boutiques. Riho, carrying a shopping bag almost as big as herself, led the way with her peers, exploring every corner of the stores. Son Tae-young asked, "Did you come here to buy something?" to which the kids replied, "We're just browsing," adding to the amusement.

As the shopping continued, Son Tae-young's energy quickly waned. She eventually declared, "I'm not going to follow anymore, I'm tired," opting to sit and rest in a store corner, embodying the quintessential mom.

Meanwhile, Riho showed no signs of fatigue, enthusiastically visiting various accessory and clothing stores, repeatedly exclaiming, "It's so pretty," and enjoying the latest trends with her friend. At a brand store popular among New York's Gen Z, she was particularly animated.

Son Tae-young acknowledged the children's shopping zeal, saying, "It's hard to pass by a store without stopping," but also confessed, "We'll just sit here. It's not easy to keep going like this," eliciting laughter.

Son Tae-young married actor Kwon Sang-woo in 2008, and they have a son and a daughter. Currently, Son Tae-young resides in New Jersey for her children's education, while Kwon Sang-woo commutes between Korea and the U.S.
