BTS's RM Faces Smoking Allegations in Tokyo's No-Smoking Zones
According to the Japanese weekly magazine Shukan Bunshun, RM, who was in Japan for BTS's Tokyo Dome concert, was reportedly seen smoking multiple times in non-smoking areas in the bustling Shibuya district. Reports claim that he smoked not only on the streets but also in building corridors marked with no-smoking signs, and discarded cigarette butts on the ground.
The magazine reported that a security guard approached RM and his companions to ask them to stop smoking, but RM allegedly continued. It was also reported that a staff member had to kneel to pick up the discarded cigarette butts left by RM's group. The publication released photos of the incident, sparking public criticism.
Big Hit Music and HYBE, RM's management companies, have not issued any statements regarding the controversy.
Meanwhile, BTS kicked off their 'BTS Arirang World Tour' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium on the 9th and continued their performances at the Tokyo Dome on the 17th and 18th. After completing their Japan schedule, BTS is set to move to the United States for their North American tour, with performances scheduled at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium on the 25th, 26th, and 28th.
