Voice Actress Seo Yuri and Ex-Husband Choi Byung-gil Engage in Public Feud Over Financial Disputes
On October 21, Seo Yuri took to her Instagram story, stating, "I can't disclose everything yet due to ongoing legal reviews, but I feel like I'm being unfairly portrayed."
Seo recalled, "I was unjustly removed from all programs at a major broadcasting station due to Choi Byung-gil's personal issues," adding that she hasn't appeared on that network since, resulting in significant financial loss. She explained that they attempted to settle by having Choi compensate through casting opportunities, although this was not included in their final agreement.
Seo also addressed financial discrepancies, stating, "Choi claims his debts arose from business ventures started in 2022, but I began taking loans against my apartment to send him cash in 2020. This is all documented in the property registry."
Previously, Choi had released documents from their divorce negotiations, which reportedly included conditions for Seo to be cast in leading roles and participate in international festivals. Choi argued these terms were unrealistic and claimed he added extra funds to finalize the agreement.
Seo countered, "It's hard to accept that he claims to have added 60 million won when he hasn't even repaid the original amount."
Choi responded, "I want to pay the settlement, but I'm currently without income. I hope to secure work soon to fulfill this obligation," emphasizing the importance of reputation in their industry and pleading for an end to the public negativity.
The couple, who married in 2019 and divorced in March 2024, have been publicly airing grievances through their personal channels. Seo alleged she never received living expenses during their marriage, while Choi claimed he sold his house and took loans to support Seo's housing needs.
Seo retorted, "The apartment loan increased from 200 million won before marriage to 1.1 billion won. How can you say the apartment is still there? The monthly interest alone is 600,000 won. What about the loans I took out in my name?"

We attempted to settle by having Choi compensate through casting opportunities, although this was not included in our final agreement.
Despite this, he insists on portraying me as someone making unreasonable demands on social media.
Choi acknowledged his personal issues to my lawyer at the time, and all conversations are documented.
Please refrain from obvious media manipulation. I apologize for any fatigue this may cause.
