Production company EMK Musical Company (EMK) unveiled the first rehearsal of the musical 'Beethoven' on the 17th.

This season, the musical drops its previous subtitle 'Beethoven Secret' and presents itself simply as 'Beethoven.' The production has enhanced its narrative and character relationships, aiming for a higher level of completion. Composer Sylvester Levay has contributed new songs, adding musical depth to the show. The production intends to offer a profound exploration of Beethoven's struggles and human aspects as he created his immortal music.
Executive Producer Um Hong-hyun expressed, "I am thrilled that the time has come to tell the story of the great musician Beethoven in our own voice. This time, we focused on delving deeper into Beethoven's inner world, capturing his struggles and aspirations. We hope to present a high-quality performance to the audience, with the cast and creative team united in their efforts."
Actors Park Hyo-shin and Hong Kwang-ho will portray the complex inner world of the solitary artist Ludwig with their unique interpretations, while Yoon Gong-ju, Kim Ji-hyun, and Kim Ji-woo will add depth to the narrative with their nuanced performances as Antonie. The addition of talented actors is expected to enhance the multidimensional characters and increase the show's immersive experience.
The musical 'Beethoven' has been a topic of interest since the announcement of its cast and the release of the cast trailer. It topped the reservation charts immediately after the first ticket sales opened, proving its high anticipation. The upcoming season's performances are highly anticipated.
Meanwhile, 'Beethoven' will open on June 9 and run until August 11 at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center in Seoul.
