Actor Lee Jong-hyuk has shared some unfortunate news.

On October 12, Lee Jong-hyuk posted on his Instagram story, "Am I experiencing a calf muscle rupture now? I've been playing baseball well for over 20 years," along with a photo.

The photo shows Lee Jong-hyuk with a wrap around his calf. Later, he seemed to have visited the hospital, sharing, "I can't believe I'm on crutches... It's a new experience. Calf muscle rupture, haha," confirming that he has a cast on his left leg, evoking sympathy from viewers.

A graduate of Seoul Institute of the Arts' Department of Performing Arts, Lee recently shared on his social media a photo of himself wearing the university jackets of his sons: his eldest son, Tak-soo, who is attending Dongguk University's Department of Theater, and his second son, Joon-soo, who entered Chung-Ang University's Department of Theater this year, proudly showcasing his "actor family."

Born in 1974, Lee Jong-hyuk is 51 years old this year. He debuted in 1997 with the play "The Threepenny Opera." His most recent film was "Love, Again" in 2019, and he made special appearances in dramas last year and this year. Since 2021, he has been alternating between supporting roles and special appearances, with his last leading role being in the 2020 SBS drama "Good Casting." He has not been active in musicals and plays since 2023 and 2025, respectively.
