AKMU's Lee Su-hyun Returns to YouTube After 3-Year Hiatus with Refreshing Authenticity

AKMU's Lee Su-hyun has made her return to the spotlight after a three-year hiatus.

On the 11th, Lee Su-hyun's official YouTube channel released a video titled "The Princess Returns | The Princess Knows Nothing," marking her comeback. In her return, she greeted fans with her signature cheerful "princess concept," showcasing her unchanged energy.

In the video, Lee Su-hyun reflected on her past by watching old footage of herself. Observing her younger self from 7-8 years ago, she candidly remarked, "There's no trace of laughter," and "It feels forced." She expressed her desire to shed any pretense and return with a more natural demeanor.

Recalling her past interview with pop star Sabrina Carpenter, Lee Su-hyun shared, "I was hesitant due to my fear of speaking English, but I wanted to get to know her since we're the same age." She added, "Now she's a top star dominating the Billboard charts. Sometimes I can't believe it. She was such a kind and cheerful friend."

Her perspective on beauty has also evolved. Once a regular creator of beauty content, she now emphasizes, "I go out with a bare face. The best beauty is taking good care of your skin. Nurturing what you have is an asset."

Her love for YouTube remains strong. Lee Su-hyun stated, "One of the happiest projects in my 20s was YouTube," and expressed her desire to enjoy it even more this time. She humorously thanked her 1.65 million subscribers for sticking around, saying, "In this era of overflowing content, I'm grateful that so many have subscribed and haven't unsubscribed."

Regarding her future content direction, Lee Su-hyun explained, "I'm not into the grandiose style of big channels these days." She aims to showcase "the daily life of a princess and how I live my life." She also plans to feature her "prince and princess friends" in her content.

Previously, Lee Su-hyun had revealed on a broadcast that she spent time holed up in her room, playing games and ordering delivery food, with her day and night reversed. She confessed, "My self-esteem hit rock bottom, and it was hard to meet people," indicating she had gone through tough times. She plans to share her year-long healing process in future content.

In closing, Lee Su-hyun expressed, "It's awkward and embarrassing to meet you again, but I'm excited." She hopes her channel will become a platform to connect more closely with her audience. Anticipation builds for Lee Su-hyun's new beginning, as she returns with an unadorned and sincere approach.
