Singer Kim Tae-woo Ventures into Musical Production with 'Hague'
On the afternoon of the 8th, a press call for the musical 'Hague' was held at NOL Uniplex Hall 1 in Daehangno. The event was attended by producer Kim Tae-woo, director Park Ji-hye, and actors Song Il-gook, Oh Man-seok, Geum Jun-hyun, Kang Seung-sik, and Lee Se-on.
'Hague', which opened on the 1st, is based on the 'Hague Secret Emissary Affair' of 1907, just before the dark days of Korea's annexation by Japan. The musical reimagines the mission with additional envoys assisting leader Lee Sang-seol, shedding new light on their journey on the 120th anniversary of the event.
The production is a collaboration with Gemstone E&M, the agency of g.o.d members Danny Ahn, Son Ho-young, and Kim Tae-woo, with Kim Tae-woo taking on the role of producer. Reflecting on his first production experience, Kim Tae-woo expressed, "It's a new feeling to be involved in a performance with a different color than the stages I've stood on as a singer."
Discussing the challenges of his first production role, Kim Tae-woo noted, "As a singer, everything on stage—lights, music, cameras—was centered around me. In musicals, it's a collective effort built on everyone's promises, which was a different understanding. I've learned a lot."
The musical 'Hague' will run until June 21.
