Actress Hwang Bo-ra Opens Up About Her Mother's Accident and Emotional Struggles
On the YouTube channel 'Hwang Bo-ra Variety', a video titled 'Emergency, Late for Daycare During Adjustment Period!' was uploaded on the 7th.
In the video, Hwang Bo-ra revealed her morning routine as she prepared her son Woo-in for daycare. She busily started her day by labeling his belongings and choosing his clothes, stating, "We usually wake up at 7:15 AM, and the shuttle arrives at 8:10:30 AM. Woo-in's dad takes him to daycare, and his grandparents and I pick him up." She added, "Woo-in is very particular about his clothes, and even his teacher mentioned how well-dressed he is, which makes me more eager to dress him nicely."
Hwang Bo-ra detailed the incident, explaining, "Parking lots are dangerous for kids, especially with large SUVs where small children like Woo-in might not be visible. Woo-in refuses to use a stroller and insists on walking and running. My mom tried to catch him and fell over a speed bump, temporarily losing her memory."
Hwang Bo-ra expressed guilt, saying, "My mom has a bad back but carried Woo-in a lot, so he always asks her to carry him. I feel like a terrible daughter." She continued, "I married late, and although I worked hard when I was younger, I didn't save money, which makes me feel guilty. Woo-in is growing, and my parents are aging and becoming frail, which breaks my heart."
Hwang Bo-ra took her mother to the hospital for tests. She explained, "The brain CT showed only signs of a concussion, nothing serious. The nausea and dizziness might be due to anxiety. We even visited a psychiatrist just in case."
Hwang Bo-ra married Cha Hyun-woo (Kim Young-hoon), the younger brother of actor Ha Jung-woo and son of Kim Yong-gun, in 2022, and welcomed their son Woo-in in 2024.
