Musical Star Ock Joo-hyun Opens Up About Grueling Performance Schedule
On October 1st, Ock Joo-hyun posted on her Instagram, stating, "I don't consume caffeine after 2 PM," along with several photos.
In the photos, Ock Joo-hyun is seen keeping warm after completing her stage makeup. She is holding a tumbler, presumably filled with coffee. She candidly mentioned, "Between two performances, I need a couple of big sips in the late afternoon," highlighting the challenges of performing both matinee and evening shows in one day.
Previously, Ock Joo-hyun faced criticism for dominating 60% of the performances in the musical 'Anna Karenina.' At the time, she was also involved in another musical, 'Bonnie and Clyde,' and was preparing for 'Red Book' performances in Busan and Suwon. With rehearsals for 'Anna Karenina' overlapping, fans expressed concerns about her vocal health and physical strain.
In 2021, during the 'Wicked' performances, some shows were canceled due to her health issues, prompting the production company to issue apologies and refunds. In 2023, her casting schedule for 'Beethoven Secret Season 2' and 'Red Book' was also altered due to health concerns, adding weight to worries about her intense schedule.
Meanwhile, 'Anna Karenina,' featuring Ock Joo-hyun, concluded its run on September 29th.
