Shinhwa's Kim Dong-wan Defends Shin Hye-sung Amid Wedding Absence Rumors
Amidst rumors of discord within the group Shinhwa due to Shin Hye-sung's absence from Lee Min-woo's wedding, Kim Dong-wan has spoken out.

On October 31, Kim Dong-wan took to his social media to express his thoughts, stating, "Why do people keep trying to attach meaning to someone's choice to live quietly? It's their life. They owe no debt or explanation."

Lee Min-woo tied the knot with third-generation Korean-Japanese Lee Ami, who is 11 years his junior, on October 29 at a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. All Shinhwa members attended the wedding except for Shin Hye-sung, sparking rumors of a rift between him and the other members.

Shin Hye-sung was involved in a DUI incident in October 2022, where he was caught driving someone else's car under the influence in Songpa-gu, Seoul. He refused to take a breathalyzer test more than three times and was arrested on the spot, receiving a six-month prison sentence suspended for one year.

He also faced DUI charges in April 2007, with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.097%, which is above the license suspension level. Additionally, he was involved in an overseas gambling controversy, having been fined 10 million won for gambling in Macau and other locations five times between July 2007 and April 2008, spending over 140 million won.
