The hit tvN drama 'Crash Landing on You', which concluded in 2020, is set to make a comeback as a musical in Japan, fueled by its immense popularity there. The drama is also well-known for bringing actors Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin together, leading to their real-life romance and marriage.

Studio Dragon is expanding its IP-based licensing business by showcasing performances of its hit drama IPs both domestically and internationally. This year, the 'Crash Landing on You' musical and the play 'Flower of Evil' will be staged in Japan, while the spin-off play 'Jeonghee', based on 'My Mister', will be performed in Korea.

The global mega-hit 'Crash Landing on You' will be presented as a musical in Japan, capitalizing on its soaring popularity. The performances are scheduled from July 12 to 26 at THEATER MILANO-Za in Tokyo, and from July 31 to August 2 at Brillia HALL in Osaka. Notably, this production will feature Japanese actors performing in Japanese, offering local audiences a more immersive experience.

This is not the first time 'Crash Landing on You' has been adapted into a musical in Japan. In February 2024, a musical held at Tokyo's Yomiuri Hall sold out all seats consecutively. In July of the same year, it became the first performance based on a Korean drama to be staged at the prestigious Tokyo National Theatre for an encore. By December 2025, the musical was also successfully performed at COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA's WW Hall in Osaka. Previous performances in Tokyo and Osaka featured Korean actors. Additionally, from November to December 2024, it was adapted into a traditional Japanese all-female Takarazuka performance, achieving a record of selling out all 18 shows in Tokyo.

A representative from Studio Dragon stated, "The performance will allow audiences to relive the emotional moments from the drama offline," and added, "We plan to continue expanding our licensing business based on our hit productions."
