K-Pop Star Park Yoochun Shares Update from Japan Amidst Controversial Past
On October 14, Park Yoochun took to Instagram to post several photos with the caption, "Amazing, it was really delicious. Fully recharged for tomorrow. YUNIVERSE, please take care of me tomorrow as well."
The photos show Park Yoochun dining at a restaurant in Japan, sporting a casual look with a backwards cap and a bright smile as he poses for the camera.
Notably, Park Yoochun added, "Father, I'm doing well in Japan, so don't worry," drawing attention. His father passed away on March 14, 2012, due to a chronic illness.
Park Yoochun debuted in 2003 with the group TVXQ. In 2016, he was accused of rape, but the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence. In 2019, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year probation for methamphetamine use.
At the time, Park Yoochun held a press conference stating, "If I have used drugs, I will retire from the entertainment industry," only for the drug charges to be confirmed later. Despite initially announcing his retirement, he has since resumed activities, focusing on overseas markets like Japan. His former fiancée, Hwang Hana, the granddaughter of the founder of Namyang Dairy Products, was recently indicted on drug charges.
