Top Model Han Hye-jin Reveals Her Heaviest Weight, Sparking Online Reactions
On October 12, Han Hye-jin's YouTube channel released a video titled 'The Return of the Top Model's Health Management.' In the video, Han confessed that she had overeaten during the holiday season and decided to go on a diet.
The revelation of her maximum weight drew attention. Han recalled, "I measured my body composition today, and it was the worst." She added, "My threshold is 58kg, and I should never exceed it. Seeing that number this morning was a wake-up call." Han also mentioned, "My neck and shoulder are not in good condition, so I'm doing light weight training. The weight gain is an issue, but the decrease in muscle mass is even more frustrating. My body fat percentage was at an all-time high. Even before measuring, I instinctively felt 'this is bad.'"
Determined to start her diet on the last day of the Lunar New Year, Han began with a light run. She continued with fasting runs and high-intensity workouts, sharing her diet plan. Han showed herself eating seaweed, raw fish, and mixed grain rice with garlic and peppers, explaining, "You might wonder why I'm eating regular meals while trying to lose weight, but I'm trying to comfort myself while dieting."
Han shared her two-week experience of combining running, weight training, ballet, and a balanced diet. She stated, "Dieting is a process of gaining and losing weight repeatedly. It's important to make an effort to return to a healthy cycle even if you falter. You shouldn't give up even if you gain or lose weight."
The video sparked online reactions, with comments like "What weight gain?" and "At 177cm and 58kg, she's extremely thin," reflecting both criticism and envy.
Han Hye-jin debuted in 1999 at the 'Seoul International Fashion Collection' and quickly rose to become a top model in Korea. She has frequently appeared on television, sharing her rigorous body management techniques. Last year, on KBS's 'Problematic Men,' she shocked many by revealing that she eats instant noodles only once or twice a year.
