BLACKPINK's Jisoo Opens Up About Final Filming Emotions and Her First Rom-Com Experience
On the 6th, Jisoo and Seo In-guk appeared on Hyeri's YouTube channel to discuss their roles in Netflix's 'Monthly Boyfriend.'
Seo In-guk shared his first impression of Jisoo, saying, "It was fascinating. I thought, 'It's Jisoo.' I had only seen her on BLACKPINK's stage and thought she was bright and fun, but she was even more so in person."
Jisoo, who quickly bridged the gap with the shy Seo In-guk, recalled, "He's a celebrity, so I was curious about many things. I wanted to see him sing. We went to karaoke towards the end, and he sang really well."
Both actors candidly discussed the pressure of emotional scenes. When Hyeri asked about scenes requiring tears, Seo In-guk explained, "It varies. Sometimes the emotions are there, but the tears aren't, and other times it just flows beautifully without much thought. It's random."
Jisoo mentioned that thinking about other things during emotional scenes can be distracting. She explained, "It's better to focus and immerse in the scene. If I start thinking about my own sad experiences, it becomes distracting."
Jisoo shared her experience of the final filming day, saying, "I comforted directors who cried. I tried to immerse myself in the emotions, but I didn't know what was sad. I felt excited on the last day." In contrast, Hyeri, who often cries on the last day, said, "I don't want to cry, but I do because it feels like we're parting ways."
Jisoo, who took on her first romantic comedy, said, "I love rom-coms, but I doubted if I could do well, so I avoided the script. But working with the 'rom-com king' on set, I felt well taken care of."
Meanwhile, as BLACKPINK celebrates their 10th anniversary, Jisoo reflected on their journey, saying, "We didn't appear on variety shows due to a lack of individual skills, which led to a mysterious image." Regarding BLACKPINK's YouTube milestone of 100 million subscribers, she added, "It doesn't feel real," showing a humble attitude towards their record-breaking achievement.
