Chef Ahn Sung-jae's Restaurant Mosu Earns Michelin 2-Star Rating
Chef Ahn Sung-jae, known for his role as a judge on Netflix's show 'Black and White Chef,' has been awarded a Michelin 2-star rating.

On the 5th, the Michelin Guide, published annually by the French tire company Michelin, released its 'Michelin Guide Seoul & Busan 2026 Restaurant Collection.' According to the collection, a total of 42 Michelin-starred restaurants were selected in Seoul, with only one achieving the prestigious 3-star status.

Chef Ahn's restaurant, Mosu, garnered attention by receiving a 2-star rating in its first evaluation since reopening last year. Mosu made headlines in 2023 as the first restaurant in Korea to receive a 3-star rating. It was previously excluded from evaluations due to a temporary closure during its relocation.

Michelin praised Mosu for its "imaginative, precise, and balanced dishes," noting that the flavors and textures "consistently delight beyond expectations." Signature dishes such as abalone taco, sesame tofu, and burdock tart were highlighted, with the sourdough being particularly impressive. The fish dishes were also described as elegantly composed.

Regarding the Michelin announcement, Chef Ahn stated, "I find it meaningful that the direction and identity pursued by the restaurant were recognized, rather than just the number of stars."

Chef Ahn Sung-jae's restaurant Mosu resumed operations in March last year in Itaewon, Seoul.
