aespa's Ningning Addresses Weight Comment Controversy
Ningning, a member of the K-pop group aespa, has directly addressed the controversy surrounding her comments about her weight.

During a recent live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse, Ningning spoke about the situation that arose from her past comments circulating online.

In the broadcast, she stated, "I know people can twist words," adding, "Regarding the weight discussion, I ended by saying, 'I hope everyone stays healthy regardless of weight.'" She expressed her confusion, saying, "It seems like I've been made out to be someone who evaluates women's bodies, which is bewildering."

Ningning further explained, "I am also someone who constantly receives comments about my weight, so how could I say such things?" She encouraged, "Do whatever you want. Women can do anything. It doesn't matter how many kilograms you weigh." She added, "I hope everyone eats what they want, travels, and stays happy. I want to spread positive energy."

Additionally, Ningning expressed her frustration, saying, "It's unfortunate when I look at the internet. I don't understand why good words are omitted and only negative ones are spread."

Previously, during a Weverse broadcast, Ningning interacted with viewers by asking them to guess her weight, later saying, "What does weight matter?" and revealing, "It's 41kg. Is it okay to say that?" This led to various debates online as the specific phrase "41kg" was shared without the full context.
