Singer Hwang Garam Pays Tribute to Late Agency CEO on Radio Show
On the October 6th broadcast of MBC Standard FM's 'Women's Era with Yang Hee-eun and Kim Il-joong,' singer Hwang Garam, known for her song 'I Am a Firefly,' made an appearance.
During the radio show, Hwang Garam mentioned the recent passing of her agency's CEO. She began by saying, "Actually, two days ago, our company's CEO passed away."
She clarified, "Many people mistakenly think it was CEO Jang Jae-hoon, who discovered me, but it was CEO Kim Young-han, who was involved in the day-to-day operations, who passed away."
Hwang Garam shared, "The CEO told me not to worry, saying 'I'm getting better.' He had pancreatic cancer and insisted he was 'much better,' even declining visits. But he passed away suddenly."
She continued, "I couldn't visit him, which has been hard on me, and the funeral was a private family affair, so not everyone could attend. It's been difficult to hold back tears when I think of him."
On October 4th, Hwang Garam's agency, Double X Entertainment, announced the passing of CEO Kim Young-han. The agency represents artists such as Hwang Garam, Beomjin, Kim Ki-tae, Lee Byung-chan, Cheetah, Brown Tigger, Kim Kyung-rok, Park Hye-kyung, Blue Flower, and Choi Jeon-seol.
