Foreign Woman Charged for Stalking BTS's Jungkook
According to the prosecution on the 4th, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office's Women and Children's Crime Investigation Department indicted a Brazilian woman in her 30s, identified as A, on charges of violating the Stalking Punishment Act and trespassing.
A is accused of visiting Jungkook's residence 23 times between December 7 last year and January 4 this year, ringing the doorbell or leaving mail.
During the investigation, A reportedly claimed her actions were out of love for Jungkook. However, the prosecution determined that her repeated visits constituted a stalking crime.
On December 13 last year, A was caught trespassing after following a food delivery person into Jungkook's residence and was arrested on the spot.
Subsequently, the police issued an emergency restraining order prohibiting A from approaching within 100 meters of Jungkook's home, but she reportedly attempted to approach again, leading to her re-arrest and transfer to the prosecution on the 19th of last month.
However, the prosecution dismissed the attempted trespassing charge against A due to insufficient evidence. CCTV analysis showed no attempts to press the door lock keypad or forcibly open the side door.
Meanwhile, BTS's Jungkook recently faced controversy for using profanity during a late-night live broadcast while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
