Maddox Jolie Drops 'Pitt' from His Name Amidst Family Changes
According to reports on the 26th, Maddox participated as an assistant director in Angelina Jolie's new drama 'Couture.' In the film, Jolie plays an American film director diagnosed with breast cancer.
The film, which premiered in France on the 18th, lists Maddox in the end credits as 'Maddox Jolie,' rather than 'Maddox Jolie-Pitt.' This follows a similar listing at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, where production notes also referred to him as 'Maddox Jolie.' This is a departure from his credit as 'Maddox Jolie-Pitt' in the 2024 Netflix film 'Maria,' where he worked as a production assistant. Maddox, who enrolled at Yonsei University in South Korea in 2019, is known for his deep appreciation of Korean culture.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt married in 2014 but began divorce proceedings just two years later, finalizing their separation in 2024. During their marriage, Jolie adopted Maddox, Zahara, and Pax, and had three biological children with Pitt: Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.
Following their divorce, several of their children, including Vivienne, Shiloh, and Zahara, have also opted to remove 'Pitt' from their names. Notably, Shiloh legally removed 'Pitt' from her name upon turning 18.
