FTISLAND's Lee Hong-gi Triumphs in Final Performance of Musical 'Sugar'
On the 22nd, Lee Hong-gi wrapped up his role in the musical 'Sugar' at the KEPCO Art Center in Seoul.
'Sugar' is based on the classic comedy film 'Some Like It Hot'. Set during the Prohibition era of 1929, the story humorously unfolds as two jazz musicians, who accidentally witness a gang murder, disguise themselves as women to join a band and save their lives.
Lee Hong-gi took on the role of the protagonist, Joe (Josephine). In this production, he boldly challenged himself with a cross-dressing role, flawlessly executing heavy makeup and portraying the character's dual nature with both seriousness and wit, adding vibrancy to the performance.
After completing approximately three months of performances since December last year, Lee Hong-gi expressed his thoughts through his agency, saying, "I was truly delighted to perform in a comedy genre that I have always loved. I am grateful to the fellow actors, staff, and all the audience members. I will strive to greet everyone with new appearances in various works in the future."
Meanwhile, Lee Hong-gi is set to hold his first solo fan meeting in Korea, 'Onggi Jonggi', on March 7th, and will continue his active engagements with FTISLAND's fan meeting 'Wudangtangtang FT Office', marking their first in 10 years.
