Hong Sang-soo and Song Sun-mi Shine at Berlin International Film Festival

Director Hong Sang-soo and actress Song Sun-mi made a notable appearance at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Song Sun-mi, who accompanied Hong, shared her experience on social media on the 23rd, stating, "I visited the Berlin Film Festival. It was an experience that allowed me to see the world more broadly." Alongside her message, she posted photos from the event, showcasing the duo's bright smiles in front of the Berlin photo wall and their admiration for the displayed canvas artworks. Song Sun-mi first collaborated with Hong in the 2006 film 'Woman on the Beach.'

She further expressed, "Seeing people living diverse lives simplified my thoughts and strengthened my resolve in the direction I want to go." She also urged anticipation for Hong's new film, 'In Our Day.'

In Hong Sang-soo's 34th feature film, 'In Our Day,' Song Sun-mi plays the role of retired actress Bae Jung-soo, who returns to the camera to star in an independent film. This marks a long-awaited collaboration between the two.

Hong Sang-soo began a relationship with actress Kim Min-hee after working together on the 2015 film 'Right Now, Wrong Then.' In March 2017, during a press conference for 'On the Beach at Night Alone,' Hong publicly acknowledged their romantic relationship. He lost a divorce lawsuit against his current wife in 2019, and the affair has continued for nearly a decade. Kim Min-hee participated in the new project as a production manager. The couple welcomed a son in April last year.
