Wendy of Red Velvet Named 'Artist of February' by TenAsia

Wendy, a member of the popular K-pop group Red Velvet and a solo artist, has been named 'Artist of February' by TenAsia.

The selection was made through a global voting service platform on the Top Ten TenAsia website, where fans voted for artists with February birthdays.

Wendy, born on February 21, 1994, received the most votes among artists with February birthdays, securing her spot as the artist of the month. The voting took place from January 9 to January 22.

Wendy debuted as the main vocalist of Red Velvet in 2014 and launched her solo career with an album in 2021. In 2023, she made her musical debut in 'Rebecca,' showcasing her versatility across various fields.

Known for her exceptional vocal skills, Wendy continues to make waves as a singer. She recently released 'My Everything,' Part 5 of the OST for the SBS drama 'Today, I Am Human,' on February 7. The song captures the excitement and fear of the character Eun-ho, played by Kim Hye-yoon, who vows not to fall in love with a human. Wendy's restrained emotion and powerful vocals add depth to the heartfelt melody.

Wendy's unique voice and singing ability have made her a sought-after artist for OSTs. Prior to 'Today, I Am Human,' she contributed to the Netflix series 'Can This Love Be Translated?' in January and SBS's 'Kiss Sixth Sense' in November, enhancing the emotional depth of these dramas.

Wendy's charm extends beyond singing, as she is also recognized for her hosting skills. Since August 2024, she has been connecting with listeners as the DJ of SBS PowerFM's 'Wendy's Youngstreet,' where she has successfully engaged with various guests.

Recently, Wendy embarked on her first world tour, connecting with fans globally. The tour kicked off in September last year in Seoul and included major Asian cities like Taipei, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, as well as North American cities such as San Francisco, Chicago, and Brooklyn, New York. The tour spanned 17 shows across 14 cities, concluding in Manila on February 17 with the '2025 WENDY 1st WORLD TOUR: W:EALIVE.'
