Actress Hwang Bo-ra Apologizes for Controversial Video Promotion
On October 13, Hwang Bo-ra took to her Instagram to post a brief apology, stating, "Hello, this is Hwang Bo-ra."
In her message, she expressed regret, saying, "I apologize for the lack of discretion in the promotional video that was uploaded earlier. I am sorry to those who were uncomfortable, and I will reflect and ensure this does not happen again."
Previously, on October 11, Hwang Bo-ra uploaded a promotional video for a macadamia group purchase on her Instagram.
In the video, Hwang Bo-ra appeared to scream as if involved in a sudden car accident while driving at night. However, she quickly shifted the mood by smiling and asking, "Want some macadamia?" as she promoted the nut product. The video highlighted significant discounts and fast delivery, with captions like "Perfect snack with beer" and "Ideal for a diet snack."
Following the criticism, Hwang Bo-ra deleted the entire macadamia video and issued her apology.
In other news, Hwang Bo-ra married Cha Hyun-woo, an actor and film producer who is the son of actor Kim Yong-gun and the brother of actor Ha Jung-woo, in 2022. After a long struggle with infertility, Hwang Bo-ra successfully gave birth to a son, Woo-in, in May 2024, after four rounds of IVF.
