Korean Announcers Choi Dong-seok and Park Ji-yoon's Lawsuits Dismissed Amid Divorce Proceedings
The lawsuits filed by Korean announcers Choi Dong-seok (47) and Park Ji-yoon (46) against each other's acquaintances have been dismissed.

According to legal sources on the 30th, the Jeju District Court's Family Division 2 dismissed both the lawsuit filed by Park Ji-yoon against Choi Dong-seok's acquaintance, identified as A, and the lawsuit filed by Choi Dong-seok against Park Ji-yoon's acquaintance, identified as B. Both lawsuits were seeking damages for alleged extramarital affairs.

The court reviewed the claims and evidence presented and concluded that it was difficult to recognize the alleged extramarital relationships or hold the parties liable for damages. As a result, both civil lawsuits filed by Choi and Park were not accepted.

The legal battle began in July 2024 when Park Ji-yoon filed a lawsuit against A for damages related to an alleged affair. In September of the same year, Choi Dong-seok filed a similar lawsuit against B, leading to counter-lawsuits. The court merged the two cases, and both parties denied the allegations of infidelity.

Neither party has appealed the dismissal of the lawsuits. However, disagreements over asset division and the reasons for the marital breakdown remain, drawing attention to the court's future decisions in the ongoing divorce proceedings.

Choi and Park, both former KBS announcers, married in 2009 and have a son and a daughter. After 14 years of marriage, they separated in October 2023 and are currently undergoing divorce proceedings. They have submitted a divorce mediation application to the Jeju District Court, with the divorce trial set to resume in April.

Park Ji-yoon has secured custody and parental rights of their children, while Choi Dong-seok has visitation rights, allowing him to meet his children two days a week.
