Na Young-seok Splurges $55,000 on Fashion Shopping Spree

Famed South Korean producer Na Young-seok recently made headlines for his extravagant shopping spree, spending a whopping 73 million KRW (approximately $55,000) on clothes.

On October 19, the YouTube channel 'Channel Fifteenya' released a video titled 'A 3 Billion KRW Salaryman's Clothes Shopping'.

In the video, Na Young-seok embarked on a shopping trip with Park Hyun-yong PD and writer Kim Dae-joo, both known for their fashion-forward styles. Na, who hadn't shopped for clothes in two years, stated, "I haven't bought clothes since two years ago. I'll follow my fashion-savvy juniors and buy some clothes. There's no maximum budget, just reasonably."

Park and Kim humorously critiqued Na's usual style, saying, "Clothes don't really suit him," and "He devours clothes." Known for their love of vintage and heritage brands, most of their clothing and accessories come with hefty price tags. Na jokingly remarked, "Isn't it 5 million KRW whenever you buy something?"

Na admitted, "I still don't know my style after 50 years," and sought recommendations from his fashion-savvy juniors. Shocked by the price tags, with jackets costing over 1 million KRW, he exclaimed, "When did prices rise so much?"

Impressed by his juniors' fashion sense, Na suggested, "Quit being a PD and become a personal shopper." Park humorously replied, "I'll do it with Kim Tae-ho PD," to which Na conceded, "Yeah, Kim Tae-ho PD would be better at that than me," causing laughter.

Na eventually purchased a 1.25 million KRW jacket, captivated by his reflection in the mirror. Park Hyun-yong PD, eyeing the last piece available in Korea, jokingly declared, "I'll just steal it."

Na also tried on a high-end leather jacket priced at 22 million KRW at 'Lee Kwang-soo's favorite store' but carefully removed it after seeing the price. He confessed, "I never thought this would be such an uncomfortable shoot. It's the most uncomfortable I've been in the past six months."

Dazed by the high prices, Na introduced himself as "Na Young-seok PD from CJ ENM" while wearing the clothes, only to correct himself, realizing he had moved to 'Egg is Coming', and laughed off the near faux pas.

Na ended up purchasing a 2.7 million KRW navy zip-up, an 893,000 KRW pants and sweat set, and a 2.5 million KRW suede jacket, totaling over 73 million KRW. He remarked, "I don't think I'll need to shop for clothes again until I die," and suggested the YouTube title, 'A 3 Billion KRW Salaryman's Clothes Shopping', revealing his dazed state.

He added, "To financially recover from today, I might film part two in ten years. But I wanted to indulge once. I usually care about others' opinions when dressing, but I wanted to buy clothes I truly liked, even if it was a splurge. My wife shouldn't see this, but I have to tell her," he confessed, eliciting laughter.
