SHINee's Key Addresses 'Injection Aunt' Controversy After 12 Days
On the 17th, Key's agency, SM Entertainment, released a statement saying, "Key was introduced to Mr. Lee, who worked at a hospital in Gangnam, through a recommendation from an acquaintance. Key initially believed Mr. Lee to be a doctor and continued to receive treatment at the hospital. In situations where visiting the hospital was difficult, Key received home visits for treatment, not realizing it could be problematic as he was under the impression that Mr. Lee was a licensed doctor."
The statement continued, "Key recently became aware of the controversy surrounding Mr. Lee's medical license and was shocked to learn that he was not a doctor. Key deeply regrets his ignorance and has decided to step down from his scheduled activities and programs to acknowledge the seriousness of the matter."
Regarding the delay in addressing the controversy, the agency apologized for the late response, citing the need to confirm details with various parties due to overseas tour schedules. They expressed their apologies to fans and the public for any concern caused.
