Korean Entertainer Cho Sae-ho Steps Down Amid Allegations, Issues Public Apology
On the 9th, Cho Sae-ho took to Instagram to express his apologies, stating, "I sincerely apologize for disappointing many people with the recent events. I was concerned that a lengthy explanation might cause more discomfort, but I felt it was my duty to convey my thoughts and position directly in response to the love and support I've received over the years."
He continued, "However, I must clarify that the allegations raised due to those connections are entirely false. I understand that the images may have disappointed many. I apologize once again for causing discomfort and disappointment to viewers who expect laughter and comfort from me."
Regarding his decision to leave his programs, Cho stated, "This incident made me reflect on whether I was causing harm to the shows I am part of. 'You Quiz on the Block' is a program where listening to and empathizing with guests' stories is crucial. I judged that I couldn't fulfill that role adequately in my current state. '2 Days & 1 Night' is also an important program on public broadcaster KBS, and I didn't want to burden the program and the team unnecessarily. After much consideration, I informed the production teams of both programs of my decision to step down."
Cho expressed his apologies to his fellow members, staff, and viewers, saying, "I feel nothing but regret towards those who have trusted and supported me. Despite my efforts to become a better person after getting married and starting a family last year, I realize I still have many shortcomings. I plan to correct the false parts through the necessary procedures for the sake of my family."
He concluded, "I will manage my surroundings and actions more thoroughly to prevent similar disappointments in the future. I will use this incident as an opportunity for deep reflection and strive to return with a more mature image. I am determined to become a better person."
