Stray Kids Donate to Hong Kong Fire Relief Efforts
On the 28th, Stray Kids announced on Weibo that they donated 1 million Hong Kong dollars (approximately 188,000 USD) through Hong Kong World Vision. The donation will be used to provide temporary housing and psychological support for affected children and residents.
Stray Kids expressed, "We were deeply saddened to hear the tragic news from Hong Kong. We hope for the recovery and safety of the residents and families affected by this fire. We also extend our deepest respect to all the heroes who risked their lives to help with the rescue efforts."
On the afternoon of the 26th (local time), a massive fire broke out in a high-rise apartment complex in the Tai Po area of northern Hong Kong. The fire resulted in 94 deaths, over 50 injuries, and around 200 people missing. As the mourning atmosphere spread, there were discussions about canceling or postponing the '2025 MAMA Awards' in Hong Kong, but it was confirmed to proceed as planned. The '2025 MAMA Awards' organizers stated, "We are carefully preparing the stage and proceedings to deliver a performance that conveys comfort and hope."
Stray Kids will perform on the second day of the event, the 29th. They are set to debut their track 'Shinseon Noreum' at the '2025 MAMA Awards.'
