K-Pop Artists Gear Up for Christmas with New Holiday Releases

With Christmas just a month away, the K-pop scene is bustling with preparations for holiday music releases. As K-pop continues to gain global popularity, entertainment companies are eager to capitalize on the year-end music market. From classic K-carols to new releases, this winter promises to delight listeners worldwide.

The group ENHYPEN recently released a remake of pop star Justin Bieber's hit carol 'Mistletoe.' This project was a collaboration between ENHYPEN's agency, Belift Lab, and the international music platform Apple Music, and it was exclusively released on Apple Music on November 11.

'Mistletoe' is a hit song that Justin Bieber released in October 2011 when he was a teenager. The track reached as high as number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.

The 24-member group tripleS unveiled a Christmas special track 'Christmas Alone' and its special clip on the 24th. The song is an electro-pop genre infused with Jersey club elements, while also incorporating sleigh bells and chimes to add a warm, festive feel.

In the special clip, the members perform on a bustling street in Korea, creating a cozy Christmas atmosphere as people gather around to enjoy the music.

DJ CHULLY, known for his work with the duo Chuli and Miae, released a carol album titled 'DJ CHULLY The Most Beautiful Christmas Songs' on the 16th.

The album features classic Christmas songs like 'Jingle Bells,' 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas,' 'Silent Night,' and 'O Holy Night,' reimagined in dance, bossa nova, and classical genres. Notably, DJ CHULLY personally oversaw the production, arrangement, and mastering of the album, drawing significant attention.

Other notable K-carols include SG Wannabe and Brown Eyed Girls' 2006 release 'Must Have Love' and IU's 2010 song 'Merry Christmas in Advance.' These tracks have consistently topped music charts like Melon during the Christmas season for years. Additionally, EXO's 'First Snow' gained attention last year, thanks to its sped-up version used in a TikTok challenge.
