Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin's Potential Testimony in Legal Battle Draws Attention
On the afternoon of the 11th, the Seoul Central District Court will hold the third hearing in the approximately 1.1 billion KRW (around $930,000 USD) damages lawsuit filed by ADOR against Dolphiners Films. Min is expected to appear as a witness at the request of Dolphiners Films. However, if she decides not to attend before the trial begins, her testimony may not occur.
The lawsuit stems from an incident in August last year when Dolphiners Films uploaded the director's cut of NewJeans' 'ETA' music video on their own YouTube channel.
ADOR claimed that the copyright of the video belonged to the company and raised issues with Director Shin Woo-seok posting it on his personal channel. Following this, Shin removed all NewJeans-related videos from another unofficial fan channel he operated, 'Ban Hee-soo Channel,' leading to criticism of ADOR among NewJeans fans.
Director Shin filed a criminal complaint against ADOR, claiming that the term "unauthorized release" used in ADOR's statement damaged his reputation. In response, ADOR filed a damages lawsuit against Dolphiners Films, escalating the legal dispute.
