G-Dragon, renowned member of Big Bang and successful solo artist, has shared exclusive behind-the-scenes moments after being honored as the youngest recipient of the Cultural Merit Medal.

On October 23rd, an Instagram account, believed to be managed by G-Dragon's representative, posted several photos without captions.

The images capture G-Dragon receiving the Ok-gwan Order of Cultural Merit at the '2025 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards' held at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul. He was celebrated for his significant contributions to the global spread of Hallyu and the development of popular music.

The medal is adorned with 14 consonants of the Korean alphabet and an engraving of King Sejong, a revered symbol of Korean culture. The photo of the medal was accompanied by a thumbs-up emoji, while G-Dragon showcased the award with his signature expression, capturing public attention.

The 'Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards', now in its 16th year, is South Korea's most prestigious government accolade, recognizing the contributions of artists including actors, singers, comedians, voice actors, writers, and musicians. It honors those who have significantly advanced culture and arts, contributing to cultural development and national progress.

The 2025 award ceremony honored six recipients of the Cultural Merit Medal, seven teams with the Presidential Citation, eight teams with the Prime Minister's Citation, and ten teams with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Citation. Alongside G-Dragon, the late Jeon Yoo-sung and voice actor Bae Han-sung were also awarded the Ok-gwan Order of Cultural Merit.

In addition to this honor, G-Dragon is serving as an ambassador for the '2025 APEC Summit' scheduled in Gyeongju from October 31 to November 1.
