Actor Choi Hyun-wook Apologizes for First Pitch Controversy at Baseball Game
Actor Choi Hyun-wook has issued an apology following a controversial first pitch incident.

On the 13th, Choi's agency, Gold Medalist, stated, "Actor Choi Hyun-wook feels a deep sense of responsibility for the situation that arose after the recent first pitch event. He sincerely apologizes to everyone present at the scene for any concern caused."

The agency continued, "We especially extend our heartfelt apologies to the batter and their guardian who were startled by the unexpected situation. Today, we reached out to the guardian through the team, and Choi Hyun-wook's apology letter was delivered. The batter's side has graciously accepted the apology."

Additionally, the agency acknowledged, "We recognize the lack of meticulousness in on-site management and pre-event coordination. We will review our internal processes to prevent a recurrence of such incidents. Once again, we sincerely apologize to everyone inconvenienced by this matter."

Choi Hyun-wook participated as the ceremonial first pitcher at the playoff game held on October 9 at Incheon SSG Landers Field. As a former baseball team member during his school days, he threw a fastball from the mound, which unfortunately headed towards the child batter's head.

Immediately after the controversy, Choi apologized on a fan platform, stating, "I should have thrown slowly and from a closer distance since a young child was standing there, but I was too nervous to think of that. I am truly sorry." Despite his apology, the controversy continued, leading him to send a handwritten letter to the batter.
