Legendary Singer Cho Yong-pil to Appear on 'KBS News 9' Ahead of Historic Concert Series
On September 30th, a sing-along premiere for KBS2TV's grand project 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment' was held at Yongsan CGV. This marks Cho Yong-pil's first solo stage on KBS since the 'Big Show' in 1997, a gap of 28 years. The concert, which took place on September 6th, sold out within three minutes of ticket sales opening.
The grand project is structured as a three-part series. 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment - Prequel' will air on October 3rd, followed by the main concert on the 6th, and a documentary titled 'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment - The Record of the Day' on the 8th.
During the sing-along premiere, 11 songs from the main concert were screened. Approximately 260 attendees were selected through a KBS website event, with a competitive application ratio of 86 to 1.
The press conference featured Han Kyung-chun, Head of KBS Entertainment Center, Park Ji-young, Head of KBS Large Event Division, and Jang Ho-seo, YPC Music Producer. Han stated, "KBS entertainment producers have been striving for over a decade to host Cho Yong-pil. It's an honor to realize this grand project." Park expressed, "We hope viewers enjoy the stage of this national treasure artist with pride." Jang added, "We have made efforts to deliver the best sound to home viewers."
The songs featured at the premiere included 'Unknown World', 'Can't Find the Cuckoo', 'Pride', 'Dear You', 'Dream', 'Where Your Steps Stay', 'Eyes of the Sun', 'Moment', 'Youth Era', 'Mona Lisa', and 'Dear Friend'. Some attendees sang along, filling the venue with enthusiasm.
Cho Yong-pil is scheduled to appear on 'KBS News 9' on October 5th to discuss the concert preparation process and share his thoughts. He will also offer his perspective on the global popularity of K-POP.
'Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment - Prequel' will air on October 3rd at 10 PM, the main concert on the 6th at 7:20 PM, and 'The Record of the Day' on the 8th at 7:20 PM.
