Actor Kim Min-kyu Shares Thoughts on Military Discharge and Future Plans

Actor Kim Min-kyu has shared his thoughts on being discharged from the military.

On September 30th, Kim Min-kyu took to Instagram to announce, "I enlisted on April 1, 2024, and have been officially discharged as of September 30, 2025."

Reflecting on his service, he stated, "The 1 year and 6 months felt both long and short. There were challenging moments, but thanks to the fans who loved and waited for me, as well as my wonderful colleagues and superiors, I was able to complete my military service safely."

Kim Min-kyu expressed his gratitude to his fans, saying, "I sincerely thank the fans who waited for me with unwavering support. I look forward to greeting you soon with great projects and an improved self."

The photos shared alongside his message show Kim Min-kyu being recognized for his exemplary service, earning the title of 'Outstanding Warrior' and receiving the Army Soldier Award.

Kim Min-kyu made his debut in 2013 with the tvN drama 'Monstar.' He has since showcased his solid acting skills and ability to embody diverse characters in various projects, including 'Signal,' 'Because This Is My First Life,' 'Perfume,' 'Selection: The War Between Women,' 'Backstreet Rookie,' and 'Snowdrop.'

Notably, in the SBS drama 'Business Proposal,' he played the role of Cha Sung-hoon, a loyal and friendly chief secretary, earning the nickname 'Glasses Man' and gaining significant popularity.
