After a three-year hiatus following a plagiarism controversy, singer and producer Yoo Hee-yeol has reconnected with the public through Hyundai Card's talk concert.

On the 24th, Hyundai Card Vice Chairman Jung Tae-young shared several photos on his social media featuring Yoo Hee-yeol, reflecting on the recent 'Da Vinci Motel' event. He described it as a "90-minute talk show at Da Vinci Motel where we discussed various topics, including culture and personal stories with Yoo Hee-yeol." He added, "Before stepping onto the stage, there was a moment of reflection and heavy tension, leaving us with few words." He also expressed gratitude to comedian Jo Se-ho for his surprise cameo that lightened the atmosphere.

The event took place on the 20th in Itaewon, Seoul, as part of Hyundai Card's cultural project 'Da Vinci Motel.' Yoo Hee-yeol joined Vice Chairman Jung on stage, engaging in an open conversation with the audience, breaking his long silence.

This marks Yoo Hee-yeol's first official public appearance since 2022, when allegations arose that he plagiarized a song by renowned Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. At that time, he stepped down from his popular music program, KBS 2TV's 'Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook,' halting all broadcasting activities. The incident caused a significant stir among the public and the music industry, leading him to issue a handwritten apology.

In April, Yoo Hee-yeol made a cautious return as a special DJ on MBC Radio's 'Bae Chul-soo's Music Camp,' marking his first appearance in nearly three years. During the broadcast, he shared, "On my way here, I had many thoughts," and expressed gratitude and apologies to those who welcomed him, listened quietly, and those who felt uncomfortable.
