Priscilla Presley Reveals Shocking Details About Michael Jackson's Marriage to Lisa Marie

According to reports from the New York Post and The Sun on the 21st, Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis Presley and mother of Lisa Marie Presley, has discussed the marriage between Jackson and her daughter in her recently published memoir, 'Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis.'
Priscilla recalled being "shocked" when her daughter announced her marriage to Michael Jackson in 1994. She stated, "Jackson didn't marry Lisa Marie; he married the Presley family," suggesting that he needed good publicity following child molestation scandals. She further described Jackson as "cunning," claiming that his childlike innocence was merely a facade.
Priscilla also noted that Jackson preferred spending time with children rather than adults at family gatherings. She revealed that although Jackson expressed a desire to have children with Lisa Marie, she pleaded with her daughter to delay starting a family. Priscilla admitted feeling relieved when her daughter filed for divorce.
At the time, Lisa Marie reportedly believed in Jackson's innocence. However, Priscilla claimed, "Michael had been targeting my daughter for a long time," and described their relationship as "strange," noting that Jackson avoided her and kept his distance from his mother-in-law.
Michael Jackson was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy in 1993. He settled with the accuser's family for $15.33 million the following year, and prosecutors concluded after an 18-month investigation that there was insufficient evidence to charge him. During this period, Jackson married Lisa Marie, but the couple divorced in 1996.
Born in 1958, Michael Jackson debuted with the family group Jackson 5 before achieving solo success with numerous hits like 'Thriller' and 'Billie Jean.' Despite being the most awarded artist in pop music history, he faced allegations of child sexual abuse in 1993 and 2003, as well as controversies over plastic surgery and racial identity.
Michael Jackson was found collapsed from cardiac arrest at his home on June 25, 2009, and was pronounced dead at the hospital at the age of 50.
