Lee Min-jung Shares Her Pursuit of Efficiency in Cooking

Actress Lee Min-jung recently revealed her reasons for pursuing high efficiency in cooking.

On November 2, Lee Min-jung's YouTube channel 'Lee Min-jung MJ' featured a video titled 'How About a Spicy Gochujang Stew Today? MJ's Super Simple Gochujang Stew Recipe.'

In the video, Lee hosted a segment called 'Homemade Meals with Teacher Lee,' where she declared her intention to make gochujang stew. She invited Yoon Sung-won, a prominent figure in the culinary industry, for a friendly cooking competition.

Known for her simple cooking style, Lee shared, "I think beef is delicious in gochujang stew, pork neck in kimchi stew, and brisket in soybean paste stew." She added, "Today, I'm competing with a pro, so I splurged on sirloin. The beef adds a rich flavor."

Lee, who now uses broth packs for convenience, reminisced, "When I was full of energy and had no kids, I used to make broth from scratch using beef brisket. Now it's too exhausting, and the store-bought broth packs are already seasoned, which is great."

She revealed that she discovered her gochujang stew recipe during her newlywed days through an online search. "I'm not a professional chef, so I enjoy watching others cook to learn," she said.

When Yoon explained why he handles household chores instead of his wife, Lee agreed, saying, "If someone does the chores, the other doesn't have to," drawing attention.

In response to Yoon's comment that time-consuming dishes are always delicious, Lee confessed, "With a 19-month-old child, I focus on high efficiency in minimal time. I don't mind spending more money if it saves time."

Meanwhile, in a blind taste test by the staff, the results were a tie. Lee Byung-hun humorously remarked, "I don't know what meat was used, but the stew in the small pot (Lee Min-jung's) was delicious. Did you make this?" Lee Min-jung, though slightly embarrassed, couldn't hide her smile.
