Singer Jang Yoon-jung and broadcaster Do Kyung-wan have officially accepted an apology from KBS announcer Kim Jin-woong, putting an end to the so-called 'sub' controversy.

Following Jang Yoon-jung's statement, Do Kyung-wan also addressed the issue on October 26. He took to social media to express, "Our relationship might appear unbalanced to some, but we live with mutual respect and support."

He continued, "I received an apology text from Kim Jin-woong. Although this incident hurt our family and those who love us, I hope no one else gets hurt from this." He concluded, "We will greet you with bright smiles again. Be happy."

Previously, on the October 24 episode of KBS 2TV's variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears,' announcer Um Ji-in mentioned Do Kyung-wan as someone who married well, referring to his marriage with singer Jang Yoon-jung. In response, Kim Jin-woong remarked, "I can't live like senior Do Kyung-wan. It might be disrespectful, but I can't live as someone's sub."

While some interpreted Kim's comments as an attempt at humor during a variety show, many criticized the inappropriate nature of his words, particularly the use of 'sub,' which was deemed offensive.

Jang Yoon-jung publicly expressed her discomfort by sharing the article on her social media, stating, "Even without familiarity, such comments or actions that don't make the other person laugh can't be considered jokes. There's no 'sub' in a family."

Following Jang's response, Kim Jin-woong quickly issued an apology. On October 25, he posted a lengthy message on his social media, saying, "I apologize for my thoughtless remarks that caused concern to seniors Do Kyung-wan and Jang Yoon-jung. I also apologize to viewers and fans." He added, "Senior Do Kyung-wan has always been supportive of juniors during his regional assignments, and I regret causing trouble. I will ensure this doesn't happen again."

Later, Jang Yoon-jung revealed, "I received a text from an unknown number, and after verifying, it was an apology." She stated, "If someone apologizes, I believe we should accept it," thus accepting Kim Jin-woong's apology.

With both Jang Yoon-jung and Do Kyung-wan officially accepting Kim Jin-woong's apology, the controversy seems to have reached a resolution. What remains is for Kim to reflect and improve.
