Former Good Day Member Ryu Ji-won Reveals Leukemia Diagnosis on Social Media
Born in 1997, Ryu Ji-won shared, "It's already been three months since I was unexpectedly diagnosed with leukemia after being hospitalized without knowing the reason." She continued, "I have successfully completed the first and second rounds of treatment and am currently undergoing the third. I am grateful that the first and second treatments went smoothly, making the illness feel less severe." She added, "Right after the diagnosis, I was in such a deep pit that I didn't want to receive any consolation or contact from anyone. However, thanks to the well-wishes and concerns of my family, friends, and loved ones, my heart has warmed. I realized that humans are not meant to live alone."
After Good Day disbanded in 2017, Ryu Ji-won re-debuted with the group Red Square in 2020 and later joined the group IRRIS in 2022 for her third girl group activity. She has since transitioned to acting, playing the younger version of Kim Ha-neul's character in the Disney+ series 'Red Swan'.
