JYP Entertainment Issues Second Apology Over DAY6 Fan Meeting Controversy

On the 23rd, JYP Entertainment posted an official apology on their social media, stating, "We sincerely apologize to the audience who suffered due to excessive identity verification procedures during the DAY6 4TH FANMEETING entry."
Along with the apology, JYP Entertainment provided details on the refund process for affected attendees. According to the agency, refunds will be issued to first-week ticket holders who were denied entry due to excessive identity verification, despite being the original purchasers. The refund will include the ticket price and delivery fees. However, they clarified that tickets transferred and verified as not belonging to the original purchaser at the venue will not be eligible for a refund.
Previously, DAY6 faced criticism for requiring excessive documentation, such as financial certificates, family relationship certificates, and school records, from attendees at their fan meeting held from the 18th to the 20th at Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
Although it was announced that tickets purchased under a family member's name would be accepted with proper documentation, issues arose when attendees were denied entry, leading to online criticism of "abuse of power." There were also reports of staff sharing ID photos in group chats and denying entry based on discrepancies between the attendee's appearance and their ID photo.
On the 21st, JYP Entertainment stated, "While the measures were intended to protect the audience, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by inflexible operations and for not fulfilling our management responsibilities."
In their second notice on the 23rd, JYP added, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to the audience due to the operational policies of this event. We recognize the seriousness of the issue and will strive to improve and prevent recurrence."
