SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan Donates to Preserve Jeju's Heritage
SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan has once again demonstrated his commitment to his hometown of Jeju through a generous donation.

According to Pledis Entertainment on the 11th, Seungkwan donated 20 million KRW to the National Heritage Administration and the Cultural Heritage National Trust to help preserve Jeju's precious heritage. The donation will be used for the preservation of the Jeju 4.3 Archives, which were listed as a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage in April.

As a native of Jeju, Seungkwan has consistently supported his hometown in various ways. Last November, he was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Jeju and contributed to the protection of the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, an internationally endangered species, through a donation to the Jeju Provincial Government.

In 2023, Seungkwan attended the '13th UNESCO Youth Forum' held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where he highlighted Jeju as the first region in the world to receive UNESCO designations in three natural environment categories. SEVENTEEN, the group he belongs to, was the first K-pop artist to be assigned a special session at this event and was appointed as UNESCO's first Youth Goodwill Ambassador last year, leading social contribution activities.

SEVENTEEN celebrated their 10th anniversary on the 26th of last month with the release of their 5th studio album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY.' The album recorded the highest first-week sales among K-pop albums released this year and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the main album chart of the U.S. Billboard, on June 14.
