Vandalism targeting K-pop star BoA has been discovered around the Gangnam area in Seoul.

On October 10, reports surfaced on an online community about offensive graffiti aimed at BoA. One netizen noted, "There are derogatory remarks about BoA written on the billboard pillars on the way from Gangnam Station to Sinnonhyeon Station," adding, "There are quite a few such pillars, isn't this vandalism?" Another netizen shared a similar sighting, saying, "I saw it in the middle of Yeoksam-daero as well."

The graffiti has spread to billboard pillars, bus stops, transformers, and alley walls in the area, with phrases like 'SM BoA AIDS' and 'SM BoA Syphilis' written.

One netizen reported, "The same graffiti is repeatedly done using different celebrity names," and described witnessing "a middle-aged man with long hair in shabby clothes wandering the alleys and scribbling."

In response, some of BoA's fans have taken it upon themselves to clean up the graffiti. One fan reportedly alerted SM Entertainment's 'Kwangya 119'—a platform for protecting artists' rights and gathering fan feedback—and the Korea Electric Power Corporation about the graffiti. The corporation reportedly responded, "We will remove it within a few days."

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment has yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
