Girls' Generation's Yoona Crowned 'Artist of the Month' for May

Girls' Generation's Yoona has been named the 'Artist of the Month' for May.

TenAsia recently conducted a poll on their global voting service platform, Top Ten TenAsia, to select the 'Artist of the Month - May Birthday Star.'

Yoona, born on May 30, 1990, received the most votes among artists with May birthdays, earning her the title of 'Artist of the Month.'

Debuting in 2007 with 'Into the New World,' Yoona has been an integral member of Girls' Generation, contributing to hit songs like 'Oh,' 'Gee,' 'Tell Me Your Wish,' and 'Lion Heart.' Known for her singing, dancing, and visual appeal, she is often referred to as a well-rounded member.

Yoona has been recognized as the center of the group. In a recent YouTube video on the 'Boiling' channel, Tiffany humorously remarked, "Yoona has a condition where she must be the center," emphasizing her importance in the group. Sooyoung also expressed her affection, saying, "She just looks like she should be the center." Girls' Generation continues to showcase their strong bond, celebrating their 17th anniversary together last August.

Yoona is also active as an actress, starring in dramas such as JTBC's 'King the Land,' 'Hush,' and MBC's 'Big Mouth.' Later this year, she will appear in the new tvN drama 'The Chef of the Tyrant' alongside actor Lee Chae-min. The drama, based on a popular web novel, follows a French chef who time-slips 500 years into the past and meets a notorious tyrant. Yoona will play the cheerful and determined French chef, Yeon Ji-young.

Yoona continues to shine on both the small and big screens. Her upcoming film 'The Devil Came' is set to be released this year, marking her return to the big screen since 'Confidential Assignment 2: International' in September 2022.

On her birthday, Yoona will host an online live event titled 'Yoona's Mini Room' at 5 PM on her official YouTube channel 'Yoona's So Wonderful Day' and Girls' Generation's official TikTok channel. Despite her busy filming schedule, she aims to create cherished memories with her fans through quizzes, missions, and Q&A sessions.
