Actor Ha Jung-woo's Agency Warns Against Impersonation Scams

On November 9, Workhouse Company released an official statement revealing that there have been cases where individuals impersonated staff from productions featuring their actors to make restaurant reservations and demand prepayments for expensive liquor. The agency emphasized, "Neither our artists, the agency, nor any related staff would ever make such financial demands," urging the public to exercise caution to avoid falling victim to these scams.
The agency further stated that they are currently investigating these incidents thoroughly and are preparing to take legal action. Workhouse Company represents several actors, including Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Bo-ra, and Moon Yoo-kang.
Impersonation scams targeting celebrities have been a recurring issue in the entertainment industry. On November 8, Baro Entertainment, representing actor Byun Woo-seok, reported a similar scam where someone impersonated the actor's manager to make restaurant reservations and then failed to show up.
Previously, similar warnings were issued by JG Star, representing singer Song Ga-in, and 935 Entertainment, representing actor Namkoong Min. There have also been cases of individuals impersonating broadcast production staff. KBS reported incidents where scammers impersonated the crew of '2 Days & 1 Night' to make group reservations at local restaurants and then failed to appear.
