K-Fashion Icons Jennie and G-Dragon Make Waves with Boater Hat Styles
Jennie of BLACKPINK and G-Dragon, both renowned as 'K-Fashion Icons,' have captured attention with their unique takes on the boater hat.

On May 5th, Jennie attended the '2025 Met Gala' at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She graced the event with a reinterpretation of men's black tailoring, themed 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.'

Marking her third consecutive appearance at the Met Gala since 2023, Jennie donned a Chanel black suit paired with an off-shoulder top, accentuated by a boater hat. Harper's Bazaar commented, "Jennie stole the show in her favorite French fashion house's attire, evoking a look straight out of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.'"

Vogue also praised her ensemble, stating, "Jennie redefined classic men's tailoring with her signature modern elegance and feminine touch. This look, completed over 330 hours, showcases Chanel's impeccable craftsmanship."

The highlight of Jennie's styling was undoubtedly the hat. The black and white contrasted boater hat elevated the androgynous beauty of her look. Originally a men's summer hat popularized in the late 19th century, the boater hat became a women's fashion staple in the early 20th century, thanks to designer Coco Chanel.

G-Dragon of BIGBANG also sported a boater hat recently, opting for a raffia version at an event, exuding a relaxed and artistic vibe. His choice reflected his unique unisex style and vintage charm.

Both Jennie and G-Dragon showcased their individuality through the traditional boater hat. Jennie balanced classic and modern elements, while G-Dragon impressed with his unexpected mix and match style.
