IU Celebrates Children's Day 2025 with Generous Donation to Support Youth and Children

On May 5th, EDAM Entertainment announced, "IU has donated a total of 150 million KRW (approximately $112,000) under the name 'IUaena' (a combination of IU and her fan club, Uaena) in celebration of Children's Day." The donation is aimed at aiding the healthy growth and improving the living conditions of youth preparing for independence and children with disabilities.
The funds have been allocated with 62 million KRW going to 'Eden Iville' and 90 million KRW to 'Hansarang Village' and 'Hansarang Infant Care Center.' The donation to 'Eden Iville' will support the creation of spaces for youth preparing for independence, as well as gifts and events for Children's Day. Meanwhile, the funds for 'Hansarang Village' and 'Hansarang Infant Care Center' will be used for replacing outdated boilers, medical and rehabilitation treatments, and providing gifts for children with disabilities.
Since her debut in 2008, IU has consistently engaged in charitable activities. She is well-known for making donations under the name 'IUaena' on significant occasions such as her debut anniversary, her birthday, and the end of the year. In 2019, she was recognized as the youngest member of Forbes' 'Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy' list. In March, IU also donated 200 million KRW to support victims of large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongsang region and to improve the working conditions of firefighters.
In other news, IU recently impressed audiences with her dual role in the Netflix series 'You Have Done Well,' and she is set to begin filming her next project, 'The 21st Century Lady.'
