NewJeans Appeals Court Decision Upholding Ban on Independent Activities

The legal representative for NewJeans (Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein), law firm Sejong, announced on the 16th that they have submitted an appeal against the court's decision to uphold the original injunction. They stated, "We will continue to diligently engage in the ongoing legal proceedings."
Earlier that day, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50 dismissed NewJeans' objection to the injunction. The court reaffirmed its previous decision from last month, which sided with their agency, ADOR, in prohibiting the members from pursuing independent activities. The ruling maintains that NewJeans cannot leave ADOR to continue their activities independently.
Following the court's initial decision last month, NewJeans announced a halt to their activities at ComplexCon. They subsequently changed their Instagram account name from NJZ to 'mhdhh,' using the initials of each member's name.
NewJeans has claimed that their exclusive contract with ADOR was terminated last November, citing 11 reasons, including the dismissal of former CEO Min Hee-jin and a lack of production support.
