NewJeans' Appeal Against Independent Activity Ban Dismissed by Court

On the 16th, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50, led by Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon, rejected NewJeans' objection to the injunction. The court stated, "Even after reviewing the claims and evidence repeatedly emphasized by the debtors in their objection, the injunction decision is deemed justified."
Last month, on the 21st, NewJeans appealed after the court fully accepted Ador's injunction request against them for 'preservation of agency status and prohibition of advertising contract signing.' Despite their immediate objection, the court reaffirmed the validity of the injunction.
Meanwhile, NewJeans members do not recognize the validity of their exclusive contract with Ador, but the situation is not in their favor. On the 21st of last month, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 50, led by Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon, ruled in favor of Ador's request for an injunction against NewJeans. NewJeans had claimed their contract with Ador was terminated in November last year and announced plans for independent activities, but the court's decision has halted these plans. The five members filed an objection to the court's injunction decision.
On the 23rd of last month, NewJeans announced a "temporary suspension of activities" at the 'ComplexCon' stage in Hong Kong and have since remained out of the public eye. They also deleted their SNS channel, previously named NJZ, and changed it to 'mhdhh,' an acronym of the members' names. The PR channel, claiming to represent the parents of the five members, also changed its name to mhdhh.
Public opinion has largely turned against NewJeans, viewing their actions as an attempt to circumvent legal and contractual obligations. Lawyers are urging NewJeans to seek a legal resolution through communication with Ador.
