NewJeans Celebrates 1000 Days Since Debut Amidst Legal Dispute
The K-pop group NewJeans (Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, Hyein), currently on a hiatus, celebrated their 1000th day since debut.

On the 16th, NewJeans shared a heartfelt message on their 'mhdhh_friends' channel, accompanied by a sunflower image, stating, "Bunnies (their fandom name), it's been 1,000 days since we met. The 1,000 days with you have been a joy. Every day with you is another adventure. We love you."

NewJeans debuted on July 22, 2022, with the release of their 'Attention' music video, marking their 1000th day on this occasion.

Meanwhile, the group is embroiled in a legal battle with their agency, ADOR. Despite NewJeans' claims that their exclusive contract with ADOR was terminated last November, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ADOR on September 21, granting an injunction to prevent the group from signing new contracts independently. The five members of NewJeans have filed an objection to the court's decision.

On September 23, NewJeans announced a "temporary suspension of activities" during their performance at Hong Kong's 'ComplexCon' and have since remained out of the public eye. They also shut down their SNS channel, previously named NJZ, and rebranded it to 'mhdhh,' reflecting the initials of the members' names. A PR channel claiming to represent the parents of the five members also adopted the 'mhdhh' name.

Public opinion appears to be turning against NewJeans as they attempt to navigate outside the bounds of their legal contract. Legal experts are urging the group to engage in dialogue with ADOR to reach a legal resolution.
